Food waste
In Bristol nowadays we put out our food waste separately, we’re not allowed to put it in the general wheelie bin. Some people just tip the food directly into the brown bin, but I wrap mine in the free newspaper I pick up on the bus, then put it in a compostable bag, so my bin doesn’t get disgusting. Todays waste is a lovely mix of coffee grounds, smelly dried cat food and the nasty bits from the sink drainer. Occasionally I feel a bit disrespectful if I wrap it up in someone I think highly of - maybe Bukayo Saka, or Judi Dench for example. Not today though.
An interesting discovery - yesterday I wrote the word Dunkirk in my Blip narrative ( and nowhere else) - referring to the evacuation in May/June 1940 of allied troops by boat from the beaches - over 300,000 were rescued, and over 60,000 were killed. I mentioned it because my father was there.
This morning when I clicked on google to check something it was full of ‘Places to stay in Dunkirk’ ‘Best restaurants in Dunkirk’ ‘Sights not to be missed in Dunkirk’. Big Tech is truly powerful:-(
I must remember to restart using Duck Duck Go as my search engine instead.
