Meadow Pipit
A lovely walk this morning in a bowl of sunshine - and how welcome it was! I caught a bus to near St Catherine's Hill then walked past it and south down the River Itchen. Found this little character surveying the world from the top of a post and looking directly towards the low winter sun. I believe it's a meadow pipit, but know you'll tell me if I'm wrong.
The rest of the day's been quiet. I've felt surprisingly tired after all the stuff with the dear builders yesterday. The de-humidifier is now working night and day in an attempt to dry out the conservatory, but although it's picking up water I have to say the place is still sodden.
Thanks for your lovely reaction to the snowdrop yesterday. I can tell from your comments that after Eowyn you like me are beginning to hanker for a proper start to spring. Sunshine and birdsong. Lengthening days. The return of the first bees and butterflies. Winter does have its beauties but we don't usually get a lot of frost and snow this far south, too often it's just grey skies and mud.
Wishing you a good Saturday night and a peaceful/exciting sunday xx
