One cathedral, two giraffes

We decided that it would be good for us to get away for a few days so we are travelling south and east. First stop was Worcester Cathedral and its enormous, wonderful, great west window. Designed by George Gilbert Scott and made by Hardmans, it was installed in 1875. The window has the Creation story as its theme. I photographed it from the quire to give a sense of its immense size and then zoomed in on the eight main lights before picking out two of my favourite images. The first is one of many circular designs and features comets, planets and the stars. The second is from the animal kingdom section with its famous pink giraffe. There is another, more conventional giraffe, on a neighbouring window that concerns Noah's ark.
