Testing
I've a lot of new ideas for potting this year. I'm also working on a set of samplers for the glazes and some of the combinations I like.
Today the first sampler came out of the kiln, ten different single glazes, three coats of each. The colours have come out really well, something that doesn't always happen. Learning point is that if the coats of glaze are really thick, the colours are better.
Jamie bought me a roll of Cricut vinyl for Christmas so that he can cut stencils and relief for me. Today, after having brunch together, we sat down together and hatched a few plans. Jamie then set up the chosen designs on the Cricut and ran them off. This saw me off to pottery later, the train approaching, a simple oxide wash over the vinyl cut out which I then lifted off. Lots more vinyl designs in the pipeline and lots of different things I want to try making. An exciting year ahead :-)
