Point of Ayr Lighthouse

WEDNESDAY

A much brighter start to the day!

I started the day with breakfast at the M&S cafe in Prestatyn, followed by a bit of shopping.

Afterwards, I headed over to Talacre Beach. The tide was high, and waves were gently lapping around the Point of Ayr Lighthouse.

Built in 1776 to keep watch over the Irish Sea, this lighthouse stayed active until 1883. It's known as one of the most haunted spots in North Wales, with multiple reports of sightings of the keeper on top of the lighthouse looking out to sea.

Walking briskly, I was warm enough (7ºC) for me to leave my coat in the car and cover the   7 km to Gronant Dunes and back. This afternoon, I also squeezed in another walk around Tremeirchion Village.

18,250 steps today, which makes up for yesterday's lack of exercise.

I bumped into a member of the Wrexham Photography Club on the beach, who was busy perfecting shots of the lighthouse.
