Not Spring

But hints of it's coming.

A lovely day to be out and about.   Jamie had a ride booked at the RDA group which meets near Oswestry.  They have ponies suitable for more advanced riders and can offer a private lesson.  Jamie had the chance to canter around the ring, quite exhilarating as he rides without stirrups.  It's a three hour round trip in the car so it was mid afternoon by the time we got home but it was at least a very scenic drive for me!   Extra pic of some very early crocuses on the lane up to the stables.

After a sit down with a cuppa, I took Meg out for a long walk along the seafront.  Beyond the south end of the prom, there's a path that eventually leads into the dunes.  It's also possible to walk to Aberdovey along the beach when the tide is out, as it was this afternoon.   The golden light leaking through the thin clouds gradually became more and more orange and by the time we were back on the prom, the sun was dipping into the sea.   A lovely walk.

After tea I sloped off to the Thursday evening pottery session, picking up a friend on  the way.   A kiln full of bisque ware was emptied ... I have lots of glazing to keep me amused for a while.   I rolled some clay for a few simple pieces and glazed a small piece with a new glaze that we've been given to try.   Quite a bit of chatting a usual which is always nice.

Thanks for all the love shown to yesterday's crocus which is about to hit the front popular page :-)
