Thoughtfulness
Granny has today made the jumper which L asked her to make for her Maileg rabbit. As patterns for rabbits of this size and shape are simply not available on the internet, Granny had to improvise and use a pattern she has for a tiny jumper which hangs from a keyring. Fortunately L allowed me to keep rabbit overnight, which meant I could keep checking rabbit’s measurements to get a good fit. I added the carrot motif afterwards because Rabbit has one stitched on his dungarees, and it’s not now visible.
And, in other news, I had a delightful surprise today. We have a lovely (much younger!) neighbour over the road, and one day when she saw me out in the garden with my camera I explained to her about Blipfoto and gave her the link to my journal. The next time I saw her she referenced something I’d mentioned in a recent blip, and amazed me by telling me that she still keeps an eye on my Blipfoto journal. I was very touched, because not even my family do that!
So, when the doorbell rang this afternoon, I found her standing on the step with a pretty pot of muscari in her hand. She said, "You mentioned you were feeling a bit fragile in your blip a few days ago, so I brought you these …".
How lovely is that? I was so pleased to see her, and so touched by her thoughfulness, and I gave her a hug and invited her in for a cup of tea. A short while later, as the cup was handed to her by hubby, she said, "Thank you, Smithers!" which made him smile.
I feel much less fragile today, and very loved. I shall blip the muscari in a while when they are fully out, because they’re presently in tight bud and I want to show them in flower.
