A vase with a history

Many years ago, I  bought  this  green Chinese vase at the sale of Keir House's contents near Dunblane, which was sold to pay off the owner's gambling debts. 
The vase is badly  chipped and I got  it for £40. 
Today, Keir House, owned by an Arab consortium,  is shrouded in secrecy.
