We awoke to a beautiful 2-3” thick white blanket as far as the eye could see. There was just enough to enjoy without being worried to drive in it. That is better than at home: there were 14 accidents in our county in only a few hours. I made a full crock of chili that simmered all morning. Our BIL shoveled the porch and sidewalk before going to the neighbor’s to get us some affordable fresh eggs. They are over $7.00 a dozen at stores in our county! Hopefully they can get that bird flu under control. My sister is painting her rain barrel today. Can’t wait to see the finished product. It will probably take a few days but she will continue to work on it until it is an awesome sight. The rain barrel is a lifeline to the flower garden when we aren’t here. They have a drip hose that provides moisture to each flower pot. We went out to search for blips. I found a few contenders but this woodpecker won hands down. I love how it fluffed out its feathers. I read your journals until we lost cell service. Hopefully I can find a spot where I can post my blip. It’s usually out on the freezing back deck. Sugar is snuggled at my feet as I write this. She is my faithful companion. Hubby helped in the kitchen, read and I believe he has joined our BIL for naps in the recliners. I have dinner duty: am making creamy Tuscan Sausage pasta bowls with cheese, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Thankfully we found a pack of protein pasta to make for my sister. The regular type is off limits for her. I must remember to purchase the protein type in the future. It is healthier for all of us. Wishing you an easy and delicious evening meal. Stay safe. Thanks for all your hearts, stars and kind comments. So glad you liked the female cardinal in the snow. “Even the woodpecker owes his success to the fact that he uses his head and keeps pecking away until he finishes the job he started.” - COLEMAN COX
