Paint Me a Flower

It has been a wet, windy and gray day. We started cleaning so we’ll have our last few days free. Everyone pitched in. Our refrigerator is filled with leftovers so we shouldn’t have much cooking to do either. We worked on laundry; there will be only last minute items to wash. During a pass through the kitchen, our BIL saw at least 50 wild turkeys in the front yard. We all rushed in to look at them. They moved too quickly for us to count them all, it could have been double that amount. They were also on the side and back of the house heading toward the forest. What a sight. Since they were so spread out, we couldn’t get a photo of the entire flock. It doesn’t look as cold outside as it really is. I took Sugar out several times and thought I’d freeze or be blown away before we got back inside. We postponed our visit to the neighbor until tomorrow; problem is, we think it might be colder then. Here is the progress my sister has made painting her rain barrel. There will be vines all around it. I am always hesitant to start a project like this, afraid I will mess it up. My sister is constantly telling me, “what I know is that I can paint over any mistakes.” Wish I was more adventurous. I am including our collection of Cameron pottery pieces in the extra. She is primarily making daisies on the bird house with them. What she has finished so far looks great. Jamie sent pictures of his pool house. A dead tree fell on it last night. He is hoping to only have shingle damage. We have one caught in other trees and worry it may work loose and fall on our fence. Hopefully, we can cut it up before that happens. It is on next week’s long to do list. Wishing you very short to do lists for your weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “To practice any art, no matter how well or how badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. So do it.” – Kurt Vonnegut
