Can’t see the trees for the wood

The wind was sharp today, especially when Bertie and I turned to face into it to head homeward. We met more dogs than usual on our walk. More often than not we might meet one, if we’re lucky, but today it was four, including a lovely four month old Border collie pup. The other unusual thing about this morning’s walk was that a lot of trees beside the track had been felled since I was last here. This means that I won’t come this way again for a while as the work will be ongoing for a few weeks to come.
I keep looking for the arrival of the frogs in our pond. They were already here on this date last year but no sign of them yet. Perhaps the recent cold spell has delayed them.
