Great expectations!

Well just look what has started to open, at last. 
Planted before Christmas it’s looking like it will have been worth the wait. There are three more flower buds with this one and a further shoot coming that is about 6 inches tall from the base. 
My second plant, a Christmas gift, has grown all of half an inch since I blipped them both a couple of weeks ago but I’m sure it will come.

We have expectations of the family arriving later in the day, well at least Grace and the girls are coming. In preparation we went to Owlcoats after singing to get one or two things not available in Guiseley M&S.  For example a gf chocolate cake. Wanted to get a Grace her usual favourite cake as we missed her birthday a couple of weeks ago but couldn’t do so without get something that Eda can eat too.
The traffic there and back on a different route was shocking. So many traffic lights for road works, road closures and diversions it was a nightmare! 

Despite getting back later than usual I’ve managed to get some cheese scones made to go with the home made tomato soup I’ve taken from the freezer and have a casserole prepared for tomorrow!
