Not quite a host
..but lovely to see at least a few daffodils greeting the sun on what was a pleasant winter's day for a change. Cold, but bright and sunny. I was in London to chair an interview panel and spotted the daffs on my walk back to Waterloo. The grand building in the background is the Methodist Central Hall. It more or less faces the out-of-shot Westminster Abbey which, with the proximity of the Supreme Court and the Houses of Parliament, makes this an ecclesiastical, legislative and judicial hot-spot for the nation. It certainly attracts the tourists who were out in great numbers queuing to enter the Abbey and packing the pavements of Westminster and Westminster Bridge to take pictures of Big Ben and the London skyline. I managed to thread my way through the throng to get home in good time on a train that was not too crowded despite it being a half-term holiday for schools.
