Snow Blindness
It's easy to see how snow blindness can occur on a day like today. Even inside, light reflecting off the snow bounces around the room. Outside and the effect reduces vision to a squint. It's a relief to look through the viewfinder and turn down exposure compensation to extinguish the blinkies.
As the sun lowered in the sky, sidelighting rendered wavy patterns on the lake snow, formed by wind blown snow ridges. I included a few protruding rocks for contrast.
I find colour balance difficult in these conditions. The snow reflects blue sky overhead, yet sunshine imparts a warm cast. I go back and forth, hoping I can trust my eye.
Extra: Well Spotted. A red tailed hawk.
