Female Cowbird

What a beautiful day! Hopped out of bed, changed the linens, sprayed everything with Lysol and decided to join the living. My sinuses have been totally clear all day - yahoo. Thank you, Lord. The temps are going to be warmer this week. It’s 55°F at 3:00 pm, may have been even warmer mid-day. I tried out my sister’s camera today. We had a ton of cowbirds (at least 30) at the feeders. They rested on our neighbor’s maple trees. They are not my favorite bird but I like this photo with the bright blue sky background. Hubby and I walked the property. He wanted my guidance on which liriope he can weed whip. It’s everywhere and I have so many bulbs coming up and perennials that grow close to the liriope. Some are just safer to trim by hand. Each year, I try to dig up the ones that are out of control. Wish I’d known to only plant the variegated variety. They stay in their neat little clumps. But it was obvious I am not 100%; was so winded just from walking. I decided to work inside a few more days. Hubby cut down the dead tree leaning over the back garden and spent quite awhile picking up fallen branches. He was satisfied with his productive day. I spoke with my mother. Haven’t talked with her since we’ve been home; my voice has been too raspy for much conversation. My sister, BIL, hubby and I are taking her out to lunch on Wednesday. She was thrilled to go. My sister will take her riding around the county after lunch. We plan a simple dinner tonight. Maybe I will get to more journals and read a bit. Hubby is napping. Think I will join him. Wishing you some resting time. Stay safe. Thanks for your kind concern for my health. “There are moments on most days when I feel a deep and sincere gratitude, when I sit at the open window, and there is a blue sky or moving clouds.” - Kathe Kollwitz
