Two Welcome Swallows
The weather started Dim dull and dreary today, with heavy rain when I drove to the pool this morning, then as the day progressed the wind blew away the dark clouds long enough for me to be able to take Milo a walk along the coast.
I saw these two little Welcome Swallows perched on the coastal fence, very unusual to see them so close to the ocean, although they love to perch on wires or posts.
They are a tiny bird weighing about 10grams, they are Native to Australia and nearby islands and is very similar to the Pacific Swallow they are quite common throughout Australia, they're listed as a Marine Species therefore cannot be captured, traded or killed.
Their name refers to people welcoming its return as the start of Spring ( Sept. for us)
Mmm the posts are a bit DIM now i get a good look at them....
