Demolition

Dry, but quite cold and overcast, on our walk this morning. Nevertheless, we decided to go a bit further than usual and went past the old Clarks (K Shoes) depot and factory at Watercrook. It’s a large site but hasn’t been active for several years. So it was no real surprise to see it all fenced off and a prominent “For Sale” sign. And then, a little further on, these obvious indications that some buildings were being demolished. Not sure if that means part of it has been sold off or if the buildings needed to come down anyway. I can’t really see what business these days might be interested in the whole site and access down Natland Road isn’t that great. Local residents certainly wouldn’t be keen on HGVs trundling up and down day and night!
Our coffee at Caffè Nero was very welcome after a couple of hours out in the cold. Even treated ourselves to a piece of Chocolate Caramel Shortcake!
This afternoon was taken up with the much more mundane activity of doing the ironing. Now looking forward to a relaxing night in front of the telly - no chance of that next week as play rehearsals kick in again tomorrow.
