4 - thousand?
Another blipping anniversary. I think. I’m so grateful to the team who rescued Blip in time and keep it running. It’s been a pleasure to follow so many interesting people over the years, and even to meet some of you. More of that please!
I’ve finally accepted that the knee situation needs attention. Our GP surgery here had no appointments in the next few weeks but it did offer one today in a village 7 miles down the valley so I drove there. The teenage (in looks) doctor asked about what I can and can’t do - he agrees I must keep hill walking and was impressed with the Eildon Hill outing - but he gave me the number to ring for an X-ray to assess the damage and advised me to get in the queue (18-24 months) for replacements. I said I didn’t want an op unless it was really essential but he said operations and recovery are harder the older you are and I must bear in mind I’d be 80 by the time I got it done.
Meanwhile friend Phil came to advise Mr C about a new hard drive for his PC.
I made fridge curry slurry soup (parsnip, onion, carrot, leek, sweet potato) and invited Chris over. While here she offered to help us move furniture back into the conservatory as she’s had experience in moving furniture. We need the hall cleared so that the bath etc can go there while Chris sorts out the bathroom next week. We laughed at the 2 heart patients and the dodgy knee one managing it. After lunch she and I had our coffee in the conservatory which was lovely.
The cold wind today is biting - big coat, gloves and hat today unlike the tshirt at the weekend. I walked a circuitous 2 miles to the shop to get condolence cards for Luke’s sisters and his dad’s widow. Now I will take ages to compose the messages but it must get done.
