small, minor events

I had my visit with a dear quilting lady yesterday afternoon. Marilyn turned 97 last November and is getting quite frail. She uses her walker everywhere and isn't getting out and about much, but her mind is sharp and her eyes are bright. She's still the wonderful woman she ever was.

I made her a "Diva" pillowcase and wrapped it up with a card. She was so pleased to receive my gift and we talked quilting and many other topics. I can hope she will still be with us in the fall when I should return.

My friend P was quick on the draw with her cell phone yesterday. She shared her photo of the roadunner that had sprinted past us on the wash as we were painting yesterday. It appears to have caught something.

Today, I attended the last general meeting of our art association for this season. It features an auction of all the surplus materials members have donated. The proceeds go to our scholarship funds.

We might expect a storm with rain later today. California is already getting a walloping and it is supposed to move our way. The wind has come up and it's cloudy already this afternoon.

I'm home with my feet up for the rest of the day.
