Back after a long time

To London, the opera in the evening, and an overnight.

It's been a long time since I've done such a trip.

I'm feeling old but stubborn. It's so much harder than it used to be.  An awful train journey (but at least they weren't on strike). Back to a favourite hotel (but they've put us right at the back and it's such hard work, compared to the old days).

I can't keep up with my friends so I caught a crowded bus. No problem. I can still get around.

My first visit since they've done things to the National Portrait Gallery. I asked if I could see what they've done to the Restaurant.

I used to love it. I still do. Richard Corrigan these days.

It's still fabulous. And that view.

I'm so glad I came back.....
