The Interloper
I had to smile when I found this colourful little narcissus interloper blooming brazenly amongst my bunch of daffodils this morning.
Rather than walk into town this morning I went the other way to the Bruntsfield shops. It made for a much quieter walk over the Links in my quest for Passata which was missing from the shelves of my local on-site Sainsbury’s. I didn’t find it but I did find a Pret A Manger café on the site of the old Costa one for a morning coffee. The return journey failed to find the elusive Passata in the Scotmid coop at Tollcross which made me wonder if DJTrump had slapped a tariff on it without my noticing. However, where there’s a will there's a way and by keeping walking I found Tesco in Nicolson street had an abundance of it and the communal bookcase in the Meadows had a Val McDermid book for me to take home too.
After lunch I was delighted to get a FaceTime call from a Stromness Selkie who kept me up to date with the news .
It’s still cold and dreich outside so I’m happy to remain indoors and listen to my library of I-pad music with the virtual log fire on the wall crackling in competition. I am also happy to report success with both the crossword and sudoku for simple minds. I do wish I could do the cryptic crossword but no amount of trying has ever worked.
