A Bit of Sun

But very cold, and more rain off an on. Typical March weather here in western Oregon!

I went to the Arboretum this afternoon to get in a good hike. I'm trying to improve my endurance. I'm strong from Pilates, but gosh I sure do huff and puff my way up hills! And the arboretum has some serious elevation changes - from 650 to 900 feet according to Google. Sometimes it seems straight up! But I managed it, not without stopping, and not without breaking a sweat, and certainly not without breathing hard!  If I can keep doing that a couple of times a week, I should be able to manage a good hike soon.

Along the way I saw a bank full of these lovely violets - I believe they are western Oregon native Viola adunca or Early Blue Violets. It was a stunning early spring sight!
