York
Backblipped Wednesday 19th
We had decided to head into York in search of a Sunday roast and luckily had the foresight to book a table as we wouldn’t have got one in the pub we’d researched as it was pretty busy.
We parked up at Rawcliffe Bar park and ride as it was beside a park so we could let Phin have a run about.
Easy bus trip into the centre and time enough for a wander about through the streets before lunch. We found a lovely dog friendly independent coffee shop for a sit down out if the drizzle before a quick look round the market beside the Shambles. We picked up some local cheeses to have at tea time including a gin and lemon flavoured one which was very moreish.
Roast beef lunch was delicious and filling and Phin enjoyed his wee tidbit too.
Another walk through the shambles and we decided to head back to the site. We’d tried to use the tap on tap off but it wasn’t working when we got back to the park and ride. I later spotted a £6 charge on my account which is the maximum daily charge and not the £3 I’d expected to pay but as Mr PHL was only charged 10p I’m not going to complain!
Phin enjoyed his run about before we got back in the car and we had an easy run in sunshine back to the site.
Dinner was cold meats, cheeses and salad with fresh bread. Yum.
