Painting lark...
Woke to another wonderfully sunny morning. After last year's dismal summer, I am hoping this is the lead in to lots more sunny and temperate days.
D was off before lunchtime to play golf at Leven. I had a panini with egg mayo and salad for lunch. Turned the TV on while I ate and was amused to find myself watching an old episode of Watercolour Challenge with Hannah Gordon! I used to watch it back in the 1990s! Funny to see it again now that I paint!
Inspired by that I took myself off to the studio for the afternoon to keep out the way of my wonderful cleaning lady L. We did manage coffee and a blether though :-)
I had quite a productive afternoon with watercolours. Just playing really, no serious painting, but good fun. I was just about to clear up when I had a notion to play with some Brusho (Brusho is ink powder, which is transparent, intermixable, incredibly vibrant and highly pigmented and the fun part, unpredictable! :-) I had a very small piece of scrap watercolour paper so I sprinkled some Brusho powder on it then sprayed it with water and let it do its thing. The colours are always so vibrant. Let it dry then doodled some flower heads on top. My other efforts are in extras.
D arrived back just in time to grab dinner then head out again! The vocal harmony group he sings with had a concert this evening.
I caught up on the semi-final of Landscape Artist of the Year. They come up with some strange scenes as "landscapes". This episode was HMS Warrier at Portsmouth Docks. I would have been unhappy with that if I was a contestant. I agreed with two out of the final three chosen to go on to the final.
Oh, I've signed up to a 5-day on-line acrylic painting course starting on Monday. Watch this space!
I think I have to accept my external hard drive is completely gubbed :-/ Power is getting to it but it usually vibrates gently when in use but there's absolutely nothing coming from it. Will take it to the wee shop in Perth who got it for me in the hope they can fix it, but I am not hopeful.
