Colosseum

So weird to be walking along the road and to just see the Colosseum there in front of you. (First Extra)

I met up with the kids, this morning, as the Minx has been to the Colosseum before and wasn't that interested in a return trip. And I can see why, but it's certainly an interesting place to visit once. 

Even at nine o'clock it was very busy but we enjoyed the exhibition and simply seeing the magnificent scale of the place from the inside. 

And that bit of sightseeing done, we met up with the Minx for some lunchtime drinks in the sun before she and I went off to the railway station to catch the train to Venice.

It was a wonderful four hour journey in a 'business class' super comfy carriage for fifty-one euros each. Ironically, I believe that the same railway company also owns Avanti in the UK, and I don'k anyone has ever had a wonderful four hour journey on that service, and definitely not for a reasonable price!

My penultimate Extra shows the amazing view as you exit the railway station in Venice and I hope that the last one goes some way to capturing the magic of Venice at night.
