Festival day 1
We had quite a late start today so I wandered around a bit more, picking up a few things I forgot and looking for a present for HB for the weekend. The first meet up was lunch in a relaxed little bistro where we ate a light lunch. We then went to watch 4 x 30 episodes of a Belgian drama called Putain. Because I am on the jury and this is an open space I’m not going to comment on the dramas here. After this we had a short break before being picked up for dinner (there;s a lot of eating) at a restaurant called La Petite Cour which was quite heavy food but delicious. We then had a private screening of two hour long eps of a Brazilian drama. We came out to heavy rain and I nearly decided not to go to the after party.
I am so glad I did though as this wonderful Algerian rapper called Fianso (Sofiane Zermanie) was leading an evening of Algerian music. He lives in France, is also an actor and was on the jury last year. He brought a group of rappers with him and they played for a completely joyous 90 minutes. Everyone was dancing. Got home at 1am with sore feet and a lot of steps under my belt.
