A Little Sunshine in the Rain
Hubby had a busy day planned so he was up early. He went through more of my paperwork, deciding what we’d file. The rest will be firewood starters. We were expecting a rainy, chilly day. I went in search of my blip first thing. Knowing the rain would damage the daffs right outside our garage, that’s what I chose. They cause a sunny smile in any weather. My sister brought her newly potted seeds and heat blanket over for us to watch while they are in WV with our niece. I cleared a spot in the basement by the French doors, got up dead leaves and found a bench she can use. She and our BIL stopped by on the way to the dentist. I fed the birds before it started raining in earnest. After breakfast, I sorted more old paperwork and tidied up the area. After daily prayers, it was time to make another lunch salad. I decided to make the coconut cake for tomorrow’s funeral repast. Then I cleaned the kitchen. Hubby is still out with my mother. He took her to the bank, out for a BBQ lunch and then to the senior center to apply for a discount on her real estate taxes. He was able to secure her one last year. We will probably take a quick nap before getting ready to go to prayers for our deacon’s wife who are also our long time friends. We will miss Parker’s lacrosse game but the weather is really nasty. Dinner is cooked; Renee made grilled beef, chicken and pork that I can use for my salads plus sides for hubby. She is so kind to us. When we return from prayers, the rest of our evening will be free. Wishing you a restful evening. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. "Blossom by blossom the spring begins." — Algernon Charles Swinburne
