Elowah Falls
What a gorgeous day here in Portland! 77F, blue skies and a pleasant breeze. We decided to hike to Elowah Falls today and were rewarded with a spectacular water fall, which neither of us had seen before. The area was severely impacted by the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire which burned over 48,000 acres of trails and forest in the Columbia River Gorge. The impact is still seen in the burned areas in the canyon and at the rim of this waterfall.
But the day was lovely, as was our picnic and the company. Truly a remarkable way to spend a gift of a superb weather day in March! Tomorrow afternoon we'll be back to rain!
