Just as in previous days the Cowes Week competitors had early morning flat calm conditions which caused a two hour delay before the sea breezes kicked in allowing racing to start.

By the time the smaller yachts were competing in the late afternoon there was a fine force 4-5 breeze close to shore giving the spectators a spectacular sight of close fought racing just feet from the Esplanade wall.

I'm not sure which class of yacht these are ,maybe an enlightened sailor could identify them. They sure have a fine turn of speed.
