Dropping In

Things are not looking promising for another year of the nesting blue tits. This morning, these two (and I think there was a third) took a great interest in the box. In all the years we have lived here, we have never seen this before.

We don't know their intention, however they were clearly removing items, I would guess at nesting material. They did not appear to actually be able to get right inside but were reaching in and taking bits out.

Perhaps this is the downside of welcoming back the previously disappearing birds.
