GOOD START

As soon as the snow is gone for the season, it will be time to start the garden.  I started my tomatoes inside on the 20th of the month and three of the varieties have germinated.  Once they get a bit larger, I will cull to one plant per box. The observant will notice a slight purplish pallor to the light....I do use a Grow Light and it does make a difference.

I share tomato plants with my neighbor (my brother from another mother) and I also start everything else for his garden that requires a "head start."  Cucumbers, kohlrabi, peppers (three kinds), beets plus others stuff.  He plants radishes, beans and carrots directly into his raised boxes.  He shares his produce with me.

My next-door brother takes care of me.  I'm so busy at Road America it's difficult to find time to water, fertilize and weed the tomatoes.  I often return from the track and find him doing that for me.  Some months it's so busy at the track and I have so little time to turn around several thousand images that he even mows my lawn.  What a guy...and he won't even allow me to pay for his gasoline.  I take care of him at Christmas.  He likes steak!
