Leaving the Crowds Behind

A day of sunshine and fierce showers which transformed the world from a sparkly spring day to a dark ominous world in the twinkling of an eye. I stepped out during a sunshiny period to walk down town to buy a new ‘büstenhalter’ -a German word direct in its imagery!-in M&S. With the purchase made or I should say purchases as it was a rack (pardon the pun!)of 3 büstenhalters for the price of 3 unfortunately, I treated myself to a coffee, free as it turned out having a Sparks card with enough stars on it to warrant a cheeky cappuccino.

Thinking to walk home I turned left instead of right as I left the store and bumped into daughter#1 on her day off with some shopping to do. What on earth were the chances of that happening? We had a quick chat which will be continued on Sunday when she comes to the Dower house.

I struggled home up the Bridges, dodging in and out of slow holiday makers with children and cases in tow wondering if it would soon be impossible to get any where quickly in the centre of town. The buses snake slowly in busy traffic with traffic lights seemingly every 50 yards and constant tail backs and now the pedestrians jam all the pavements. Meanwhile more and more hotels are being constructed. I noticed that my old Costa stamping ground on the corner of Hanover Street and Princes Street is being renovated as a new hotel.

However the good news is it is Friday again and my glass of Merlot is hopefully going set the mood for the weekend when I hop skip and jump over to the Marriott for the TGIF drinks with my neighbours.
