Obligatory Spitfire
After missing Public Service Broadcasting in Munich - we were there but had the date wrong #fail - we finally made up for it, this evening, when we caught them on their tour for 'The Last Flight'.
We went to see the gig in Liverpool, which gave the Minx an opportunity to visit Bob's two most recent openings, The Monro and St Peter's Tavern. The former was so busy when we arrived that we went for lunch at Wreckfish (pricey but good).
From there we went to St Pete's which was also buzzing, but we were able to get a table, where we sat, had a drink, and read our books.
We did manage to get into a quietened - but not quiet - Monro a little later on, and then we took an Uber up to the Olympia where the gig was taking place.
I'd not been there before and I'd heard a couple of disparaging reviews on the venue, particularly around the sound, but it was good. Very good, actually.
As were Public Service Broadcasting, who, to some degree, have become like a musical pair of old slippers for us, but that's not to say that we didn't;t enjoy it, and I have to say that the newer material worked better live for me.
