The cathedral- Palermo

We headed to the cathedral and bought a ticket which included going up on the roof. Some spectacular views of the town and a chance to spot some of the places that we have visited. The blip features beautiful tiled domes - some of the many Arabian features in the building. Inside the cathedral I was impressed with the unusually high number of statues of women.

Then the Bishop's Palace - many luxurious rooms and interestingly a window over the entrance to the cathedral so it was possible for the bishop to spy on the comings and goings. 

We had a mostly indoor afternoon. Well, one where we could at least pop into a cafe to avoid thunder showers. Hence lots of coffee, Aperol and Scicilian delicacies.

We found a pizza speciality restaurant for dinner just next to our hotel. I chose a Scicilian style pizza - see extras - as a non pizza person,  I have definitely decided that Italian pizza is fabuloso.
