1130 day of war
Hello, friends!
I’m still busy with dyeing work, and even though it’s tough and I’m very tired, it’s better than keeping up with the news. Right now, we have no orders at all for our main work, but there are orders for dyeing and for Nastya’s embroidery, which is really good because it keeps us occupied and brings in at least some income—something very important right now. I finished a batch of socks, posted them, and today one person bought almost all of them!
I often don’t feel like dyeing socks because it takes a lot of time, and there isn’t much demand for them, but people like this give me hope that everything I do isn’t in vain. It’s really nice when there are people who appreciate handmade work and genuinely like what I create—it somehow inspires me to keep going despite the demand.
The situation in the country is very difficult right now, and I honestly find it hard to understand where things are headed.
There have been a lot of reports about the so-called "truce" in the energy sector and at sea, which supposedly is already in effect. I thought that a truce should be the start of a peaceful resolution, that we should see some steps toward ending the war, but it feels like we’re stuck in place, and all these statements and agreements mean absolutely nothing.
Yesterday, today, and throughout this entire week, an enormous number of drones have been hitting the country every single day. Since this so-called truce, it seems like the attacks have only increased, and the targets remain the same—apartment buildings, hotels, gas extraction and distribution stations. It’s heartbreaking to see how cities look at night after mass drone strikes. It all seems so senseless, and it’s frustrating that we can’t do anything about it.
Today, Dnipro was heavily shelled. They’re using a new tactic—gathering a large number of drones in one place and then attacking simultaneously, overwhelming air defense systems so they can’t take down all the targets. I don't know where you can see steps towards peace here, this is literally the same terror that we have seen every day in recent years.
News from the U.S. feels like an alternate reality, where negotiations are supposedly progressing well and Russia really wants peace. I’m used to Russian media writeing nonsense about neo-Nazis or biolabs, but now it seems like strange statements are coming from both sides. It’s hard to process how much everything has flipped upside down, but I guess this is something we’ll have to learn to live with.
There has also been a lot of talk about the mineral resource deal, which started as a seemingly fair agreement benefiting both sides but has now turned into something resembling colonization. It feels like relations between countries are becoming more strained, and that is truly disheartening.
Moreover, it’s still hard to understand the purpose of all this, as it won’t change Russia’s determination to continue attacking and advancing on our cities. I don’t know where this will lead, but I hope for the best. We can see how European countries are coming together, and that gives hope that we will be able to endure.
Thank you all for your support! I’m trying to stay strong and believe that everything will be okay. We’ve gotten through tough times before, and I believe we will succeed this time too.
Also, thank you for the help on Buy Me a Coffee, it helps a lot
