Signs of Spring

The blossom is becoming very noticeable in the hedgerows now. It’s not infrequently that nests can also be seen.

It’s been a clear sunny day. I harvested spinach, chard, leeks, chives and rhubarb at the allotment. I noticed the apple and pear trees I pruned in January are now showing plenty of fruit buds. This afternoon I sat in the garden and sowed leek and lettuce seeds. Andy made saag aloo with rice and an egg for dinner this evening.

It may have been our imagination but we feel we noticed the light get a little dimmer at the time of the partial eclipse late this morning.
