Turned out nice again
The nicest of six pieces pulled from the kiln this afternoon, hand built, not thrown, about seven inches tall. A variation on my favourite glaze combination, the green in the top part a variation I tried once before and liked. I like it even better this time :-)
A day of two halves. It started fine and bright, thin clouds but turned wet this afternoon as forecast. Meg and I had a walk this morning, bumping into Dan with Maze, a dog we have met before. We went on the beach and the dogs had a great run together. Back home I got on with garden jobs. Greenhouse shade netting on, many potted cyclamen returned to the shady space behind the greenhouse which suits them well. Plant food (Sulphate of Potash) scattered over the bulb pots for the rain to water in. The rain arrived just as I finished.
After lunch a video call with my siblings. Sorting at mum's house has been going well and in a month or so the house will go on the market. I'm off there next week to collect some of Chris's things. then a trip to pottery to collect my haul and to work on some old pots of glaze, to see if they can be recovered.
A quiet evening in and an early night to beat the hour change tonight.
