A day of driving
to make it home before it
is completely dark

We took our time over breakfast this morning, making it a bit of a late start. We departed the hotel at quarter to 10 heading north on hwy 97 from Wenatchee, Washington. We had brilliant sunshine. My first stop was for a lovely doe who was grazing in someone's front yard. Then, I stopped for a shot of Beebe Bridge on the Columbia River. We crossed over on it and continued to the border.

We waited maybe 30 minutes to cross back into Canada. Only one lane was open at customs so we creeped forward to find just one woman manning the office today. She asked her few questions and we were on our way again.

I stopped beside Okanagan Lake for a quick shot, and the first on the Canadian side. Then I managed to capture a beautiful hawk perched above the lake on a tall tree. ( I think this is a Red-Tailed Hawk.)

We stopped for dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Vernon before heading for home.

My last shot was my mountains as seen from my deck as soon as I arrived home. I'm beat and looking forward to my own bed and a very quiet night. It was a lovely trip home with my daughter, but I shall be very happy to stay close to home for some days to come.
