Mother's Day
This week has been an endless round of celebrations. A fabulous week away for our 50 the wedding anniversary, returning to celebrate 15 years of blip, thank you so much for your lovely comments, stars and hearts yesterday.
Then today is Mother's Day in the UK and we had a lovely service at church with a quiz about mothers in the bible. Our Rector Richard really is excellent and will be sorely missed when he leaves at the end of June. We all got lovely bunches of daffodils. A friend also gave us a golden wedding gift. Gold items for the store cupboard, like apricot jam, mustard and gold wrapped biscuits all presented in gold tissue paper. What a great idea! Thanks J
As we set off for church we met the florists van coming up the road, lovely spring flowers from Grace, John and the girls, can’t wait to see them next week. Grace also sent me a video compilation of pictures of me with her and the girls set to music. I don’t know Hiw she does them but they’re great I had them before for birthdays.
Straight after church we collected son Alex from his house at the top of the village. He took us to his golf club in Keighley and we’ve had a great 3 course lunch. Very full now!
Lovely sunny day but very windy. First thing I picked up lots of buds on the lawn that had blown p off the magnolia. What a shame, never known that happen before. You can see the buds in a bowl on the hearth to the right of my bouquet.
At least all my second load of washing was dry when we got back I was glad it was still on the line!
Happy Mother’s Day to all who celebrate in the UK.
British summer time started in the early hours of this morning so we can look forward to lighter nights if not warmer weather, yet
