Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Sunshine this morning, but still a chill in the air, but it was an hour earlier than usual when we walked round the Links.

Struggled through my chair yoga session, brief though it was. Gosh, I enjoy my breakfast rolled oats (after my session) with all sorts of goodies added (yoghurt, grated apple, cut up grapes, honey).

Listened to Desert Islands Discs, which I don't usually do, unless I know the person. Today it was Lindsey Hilsum, the BBC war reporter who always manages to look glamorous with gorgeous scarves. Enjoyed her choice of music, too.

Then in the afternoon I set off with Archie again - JR went to the supermarket. I was a bit slow, so just went up the lanes and back home. But we met Dougal and his mum, who were just heading up to the graveyard. So we went with them, and had a jolly amble and chit chat.

We happened to pop into the charity shop because it has a new window. And it's spectacular - a photo will follow. We went in to congratulate them - the owner was there, and was pleased that we noticed his efforts. In fact I bought a pair of UGG type slippers (£6), but they're too small. I'll drop them back tomorrow.

Our pals from Jersey are coming tomorrow. They haven't been for many years!

And sad news. My heartthrob of the early 60's, Richard Chamberlain (Dr Kildare) died today.
