Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Here comes the sun…

It was SO sunny this morning! It really felt like the first day of spring. We sat out in the front garden, with a wee piece of garden fence in place of a gate. It fools Archie - it would fall over if he touched it with his nose, but he doesn't know that.

Elizabeth took him out today, unusually, so we went into town so that JR could show me where to put the recycled coffee pods and pick up a couple more bags. It's in John Lewis, and I don't know how long the service has been going, but we've just wised up to it. I then took a bus home, while JR continued browsing.

Once home, I got myself some cheese and crackers and sat out in the sun in the back garden. Then I had a better idea after Abi texted to complain about the litter caused by the school pupils. I invited her over for a G&T, and as she'd finished her work for the day, she came, so a pleasant afternoon was had, just chewing the fat.

JR arrived home, and so did Elizabeth and Archie, and we all sat in the sun, had G&Ts and it felt like summer. Most pleasant. Well, apart from that great big huge Canadian pine tree in a nearby garden which blocks our sun and we had to keep moving.

Our Jersey pals have been seeing family today - two nephews and partners.  we have lunch in town planned for tomorrow.
