Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Wednesday -- From Our Window

This was the first morning since we arrived in July that the sunlight was NOT shrouded in fog or a cloud bank. This day arrived with almost no fog and soon sunshine spilled all across this region. The view was spectacular.

Mr. Fun wanted to look for a particular John Steinbeck book and suggested that we take a drive to Cambria to look for it. Early afternoon when we got to the highway, it was jammed with a long line of stopped cars. CalTrans was doing road repair. Mr. Fun is not a “sit-in-traffic” kind of person. So I suggested that we drive the other way and ride out to Montana de Oro, which is on the southern part of Estero Bay.

We had been wanting to go there on a clear day to check whether we could see our house or this general area from there – and sure enough we could! So we took lots of photos and simply enjoyed the view.

A little later we drove to the little business district of Baywood Park, which is just an itty-bitty little community that clings to the edge of the little  Morro Bay. Several motels and three or four restaurants are there.  We had a late afternoon meal at the Maya Restaurant; it’s a place we had eaten at several months ago, so we knew the food was delicious and it was. I was thrilled that I would not have to prepare dinner.

After we arrived home, I fixed the pups their dinner and thought that maybe we’d bypass the evening walk – NOT A CHANCE. It was obvious these K9s wanted to walk. They did everything but put their own leashes on. So about 7:30ish we were out of the house and walking toward the shoreline with the hope of seeing the sun illumine the Cayucos pier.

It been another enjoyable day on California’s Central Coast.

P.S. This is back-blipped, but I actually had written it and tried to upload from my iPhone on "the day," but it was lost when blip did not recognized the date and I had stupidly forgot to highlight and copy before touching the "publish" button. Ugh!
