The peacock and the cat
Not a conventional image of a peacock butterfly (he looks rather punk, don't you think?) but it comes from a funny incident and I couldn't resist the temptation to make him a blipstar.
There were actually several peacocks around on my walk, 6 or 7 brimstones and a couple of tortoiseshells. As I was sidling up on this one I suddenly felt something rubbing against my leg. When I looked down it was a young ginger cat - who certainly shouldn't have been in a wildlife area - and like me he was stalking butterflies. As he pounced this one hopped onto a broken reed at the edge of the pond and the cat followed, yes, into the water!
I'm happy to say he did get out, none the worse for wear, and the peacock flew off, but not until he's given me my shot for today.
It's been another fantastically beautiful day, but very windy. The dustbins keep falling down and I've had to chase my neighbour's empty garden bag down the road..
Have a great evening, folks xx
