Blue! (Day 3615)

Work was a bit closer to home this morning, in a house we pass when taking Sigyn for her walks. The tenant had told their landlord that the cold taps in the bathroom were all running warm water. The toilet cistern was also being filled with warm water. All of the hot taps were running dangerously hot water. From the description I was fairly sure that the problem would be a thermostat not cutting off when it should. A couple of tests proved my theory. The wiring to the immersion element was all badly melted, and how it hadn't caught fire I have no idea. I headed to town to pick up new thermostats and headed back to the job. Unfortunately the stats I had didn't fit in the very old immersion, and my only choice was to change the element. The cylinder was very old and in very poor condition and I was really reluctant to change it because there was a good chance I would wreck the cylinder in the process. I was lucky today though and got it swapped over without too much difficulty, though I hadn't expected the job to take three hours.
Back home for lunch with my beautiful wife, then out for a wander with Sigyn under a cloudless blue sky. So nice to have the chance to get out in good weather.
Back home I did some paperwork and got a post of the latest bathroom sorted out for Facebook
