Soggy doggie

Went to the allotment early to have a small bonfire. Rain forecast so seized the opportunity to declutter. Turned a piece of ground, & tidied while that burned.
Drove to Newton Abbot to buy cider from Asda. 3 x 40ltr bags m/p compost for £10, so grabbed that offer. Maeve, an ex work colleague was on the checkout, so had a quick chat as I was checked through. Very quiet in the store, still it was only 7.50am.
Major upheaval with roadworks in the centre of town so pleased I was in & out early.
Spotted a beautifully marked moth on Mum's back door. A Red Green Carpet moth apparently.
Back at Mum's, made her breakfast, then put stuff away. She'd been busy wrapping cutlery in pieces of kitchen roll. Back in landlady mode perhaps. She would wrap the sets of cutlery in serviettes to go with the basket meals they sold in the pub.
Walked Indie, a blustery cold wind but the rain forecast did'nt arrive til later.
Had a whizz around with the vacuum cleaner. Mel, Mum's cleaner could'nt work this week. Indie's little friend, that she arrived with 13 years ago had a Spring dunk... It has actually lost its little tail, so will need a repair job when dry. Pegged on the line by it's ears.
We spent an hour on the jigsaw puzzle while making lunch.
I've managed to convert Mum to oven chips. I spray them with a little sunflower oil. Sausage, chips & beans for lunch today. Did her dishes then headed home.
Back home, lunch, crossword, & Sudoku.
Drove across to see Jan & Frankie thinking I would drop the bags of compost up the allotment on the way back. The rain came while we were sat having coffee.
