Life's Little Moments

Marilyn, Take Two

Another bird rocking the "Marilyn Monroe over the subway grate" vibe - too cute to pass up.  For some reason, she was sitting in our serviceberry tree, just totally fluffed up.  She remained this way for well over a minute, time for plenty of shots, before she shook it off and flew to the feeder.  I love shots like this that show common birds doing uncommon things.

Jax and I did yoga this morning - okay, actually he napped while I did yoga, but still.  As always, my aging body feels much better after stretching all the parts.  After yoga and lunch, we went out in the garden for a while.  The weather is beautiful with a light overcast and temps around 65 - perfect for taking photos, pulling weeds, and generally pottering around.

The news is really depressing at the moment and I find myself wondering how I will navigate the next 3+ years.  Definitely limiting what I read in terms of news, while still trying to stay informed.  A delicate balance.

On a happier note, I saw my second big fat bumble bee of the year - she was deep in the daffodils and covered in pollen.  What a lovely sight!  I also saw a few smaller bees starting to gather - the cherry trees are just about to bloom and I swear the pollinators can tell.  Hopefully I will get a few days of bees and blooms before I head west.
