Together

Another long and tiring day, though for slightly different reasons to yesterday. Managed to squeeze in a session in the gym and deal with a load of emails before setting off to Manchester for tonight’s entertainment.
Unfortunately, it seemed like everyone else had the same idea, and the motorways were just a miserable slow grind for most of the journey. What should have been a one hour drive ended up nearer to two. Tea was therefore much more rushed than last night.
However, seeing Michael Ball and Alfie Boe on their “Together at Home” tour more than made up for the previous irritations.
A packed AO Arena was treated to a mix of pop standards and show tunes, all sung by two of the best voices in the business. Lots of banter between the numbers and it was obvious that they really enjoy performing together. In fact, they’ve been doing it now for ten years, recording six top selling albums and performing all over the world in that time.
A superb show and we left feeling very happy. The icing on the cake was that we are stopping in Manchester tonight and were safely ensconced in our hotel room less than an hour after the show finished - no tiring trek back up the motorway.
