Gently down the stream

Turnstone

Today I finally succumbed to temptation and went down to the coast.  I wanted to see what stage in the spring cycle the birds had got to and discovered there were not as many around as I thought, and the breeding season not as far on as I'd hoped - but you know me, always impatient for the next thing!  However, I did sit and watch the turnstones working their way along the tideline, turning not so much stones as great heaps of seaweed.  They are birds I really like, usually brilliantly camouflaged except for their lovely orange legs - which I'm sorry you can't properly see in this shot, tut tut!

Not a lot else to say about the day except how beautiful the sunshine was and how rubbish the train journey because of dreaded 'engineering works' blocking the tracks - but that's par for the course really, isn't it?

Enjoy your Saturday evening, whatever you're doing  xx
