Musing of a Lady

Nesting Swan

I took Little Man to nursery this morning. Normally we'd bike there in the mornings, but Little Man asked we could go by foot, with him in the pushchair and me walking behind. I sometimes gives him the choice of how we get to nursery. He's doing better and had a lovely time at there.

As we were walking to nursery, I saw this swan and her nest, and knowing how protection swans are of their nests, I decided to wait until after I'd dropped Little Man off before attempting to get a photo. So that's what I did. Mother swan had left her nest to scavange for food and returned to her nest when she saw me approach. Thankfully there was no signs that the swan felt threatened by my presence. I was grateful that I was able to get a few photos of the eggs, and their mother.

I had planned to spend the morning doing some laundry and writing in my journal, but Sjanne, my life group leader, asked if she could come round to help me apply for some housing things with the local municipal government. It took longer than either of us expected as we had a bit of a challenge finding the right documents that needed to be included.

I collected Little Man and we've had a quiet afternoon at home. Little Man is definitely doing better. He isn't coughing as much as he was last week, but he still has a snotty nose. A food delivery arrived this afternoon, so we should have enough food for a while now.

I'm going to start on dinner soon and then get Little Man ready for bed. I might let him stay up a bit later than normal tonight, depending on how he does over the next hour.
