Spot the Deer

I felt like a different walk this morning so I took Archie for a walk over the fields near Gawcott. I can’t remember the last time I took him there. A couple of years ago probably!
He LOVED it!
He would have loved it even more if he’d spotted the deer in this picture (zoom in to the biggest gap between the trees) and set off after it!!
Thankfully he didn’t but clearly there were lots of other exciting smells and nooks and crannies to explore in the woods and hedges. And he loves nothing more than running around open fields like a loon!
We were a mile or so from the car at about 9.30 when Mr C messaged to ask could I cover the shop today. Grrrrrrrrrrr!! Wednesdays are the only day I have nothing planned.
I said of course I could but I was in the middle of nowhere and would be a while.
I marched back to the car, drive home to drop Archie off and then headed for the shop. I made it by 10.15 which wasn’t too bad.
Someone was waiting by the door when I got there, wanting to buy something out of the window. I was a bit flustered opening up and dealing with him. I explained why I was “late” and he was fine.
Once he’d gone I opened up properly, got my tea, had my museli and yoghurt and all was well!
